Clickspaid Extension Needs Updating Due to Google's Domain Changes

Google search changes Google Search to redirect its country level TLDs to Google.com

The Clickspaid extension needs to be updated for compatibility with recent changes implemented by Google.

Google has decided that all searches will progressively be routed through the .com domain in the coming months, and this change has already impacted Google.es.

For example, if Clickspaid opens a tab on www.google.es, Google will automatically redirect it to www.google.com. Due to Clickspaid’s current design, this redirection will prevent it from detecting that a search has been performed or highlighting any results if found.

The only workaround for Clickspaid to detect the search and highlight results is to manually change the domain from .com to .es after the first search has been completed. Only then will Clickspaid recognize the search and highlight the result if present.

Due to its design, Clickspaid has limitations that Serpclix does not. With Clickspaid, searches can only be performed within the specific tab and Google domain that the Clickspaid extension opened. If you close the tab, the task will be lost. Similarly, if you open a different tab, use a different tab container, or change the domain to perform the search, Clickspaid will not detect the search as completed nor will it find or highlight the result.

It would be ideal to remove these limitations and ensure that tasks are not lost if the tab is closed during a search. Instead, the task should remain active and performable until its allotted time expires or search has been completed and completed the task.

In contrast, the Serpclix extension does not have these limitations. With Serpclix, you can change the domain and/or switch tab containers to perform a search, and Serpclix will still detect that the search has been completed and highlight the result. This applies regardless of whether the search was performed on a Google domain different from the one Serpclix initiated the task on, a different browser tab, or even a different tab container.

Furthermore, the task isn’t lost if you close the tab during a search and want to perform the search again after the tab was closed.
